Baer is looking for Linux Administrator for a 6+ month Federal project located in Kingstowne, VA.
Title: Linux Administrator
Location: Onsite - Kingstowne, VA
Duration: 6 months
Rate: All-Inclusive
Alignment: W2 or C2C (Vendors Not Permitted)
Description:
- Support the installation, configuration, and operation of a Linux landscape in an AWS cloud environment.
Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers and systems.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues.
Implement security measures to protect Linux systems from vulnerabilities and unauthorized access.
- Manage user accounts and permissions.
- Automate routine tasks using scripting languages such as Bash or Python.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate Linux systems with existing infrastructure.
- Provide technical support and assistance to end-users.
- Perform regular backups and disaster recovery procedures
- Responsibilities include OS installation and configuration, OS provisioning of application administrators and service users, performing STIGs, and creating scripts to support application functionality or other purposes.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Linux Administrator or similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of Linux operating systems (e.g., Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat).
- Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, KVM).
- Proficiency in shell scripting and automation tools.
- Familiarity with cloud computing platforms
