Baer is looking for SAP HCM ECC U.S. Benefits Configuration Consultant for a 5+ month remote project
Title: SAP HCM ECC U.S. Benefits Lead / Configuration Consultant
Location: Remote (Must be based in US)
Duration: 5 months - Full-time Nov to Dec (3 days/week during holiday weeks); Part-time (2 days/week) mid-Jan to Mar 30, 2026.
Rate: All-Inclusive
Alignment: C2C or W2
Description:
- Evaluate current SAP HCM Payroll and Benefits setup, including wage types, schemas/PCRs, taxability, eligibility rules, and recordkeeper interfaces.
- Conduct a SECURE 2.0 gap analysis aligned with customer plan design and SAP system capabilities.
- Identify and prioritize required compliance changes for January 1 implementation.
- Apply relevant SAP Notes and support packages for U.S. Payroll, Benefits.
- Configure and adjust Payroll schemas/PCRs for deferrals, auto-escalation, catch-up eligibility, and Roth taxation.
- Update wage type catalog and tax classifications (pretax vs. Roth; catch-up).
- Maintain Benefits eligibility and auto-enrollment rules; set parameters for long-term part-time tracking.
- Enhance interfaces (file/API/SFTP) with recordkeepers for new or modified data fields and security requirements.
- Implement HR/Payroll access controls and outbound interface encryption/signing updates.
- Lead unit, integration, and parallel payroll testing; coordinate user acceptance and recordkeeper certification testing.
- Support cutover planning, execution, go-live activities, and post-implementation hypercare.
Requirements:
- Hands-on SAP HCM experience with a focus on U.S. Payroll and Benefits configuration.
- Strong knowledge of Payroll schemas, PCRs, wage types, and benefits eligibility rules.
- Experience with Secure Act 2.0 or similar compliance initiatives preferred.
- Familiarity with interfaces (SFTP/API) and security controls.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills for remote team environments.
