Baer is looking for a Director or Human Resources to join our team full time out of Atlanta.

Overview:
As the Director of Human Resources at Baer, you will play a critical role in shaping the company's culture and ensuring the success of its employees. You will have ownership and responsibility for the company’s human resources and benefits administration.
Reporting to the VP of Operations and working closely with the Management Team, you will be responsible for defining and implementing human resource policies, processes, and procedures across the entire organization. You will lead the transition from a PEO model to a traditional in-house HR function, including benefits administration for medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, and 401(k) plans. You will also develop and implement HR, benefits, and third-party payroll systems and manage company EEO, VETS, and AAP policies, procedures, and reporting requirements.
A day in the life (just a few of the things you may do on any given day):
- Define and implement human resource policies, processes, and procedures across the entire organization, in alignment with Baer's values and culture.
- Develop and implement best-in-class employee services and benefits policies, in collaboration with the Executive Leadership Team and other stakeholders.
- Lead the transition from a PEO model to a traditional in-house HR function, including benefits administration for medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, and 401(k) plans.
- Develop and implement HR, benefits, and third-party payroll systems.
- Manage company EEO, VETS, and AAP policies, procedures, and reporting requirements.
- Provide support to colleagues in complex staff engagement matters, including employee relations counselling, employee complaints and investigations, and involuntary terminations.
- Support business operations in the efficient use of HR systems and data to support strategic and tactical decision making, including analyzing HR/People data trends and metrics to inform business decisions.
- Collaborate with the legal department to ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws, and federal contracting regulations.
- Plan and execute new hire onboarding and orientation policy, in alignment with Baer's culture and values.
- Analyze and assess multiple benefit plans and overall insurance plan initiatives, serving as a point of contact with various benefit providers and running open enrolment.
- Review HR vendor invoices and reports on fees and costs.
- Support leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork from employees, including medical, personal, disability and FMLA, and effectively interpret FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities.
What we are expecting from you (i.e. the qualifications you must have):
- Minimum 5-7 years of progressive experience in the Human Resources field in professional services organizations.
- Demonstrated experience in benefits administration, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, and 401(k) plans.
- Experience using HRIS and payroll platforms.
- Knowledge of EEO, VETS, and AAP policies, procedures, and reporting requirements.
- Strong understanding of HR systems and processes, including onboarding, performance management, and employee relations.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage complex HR projects, in alignment with the company's culture and values.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across the organization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use HR/People data to inform business decisions.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of proprietary Baer's information and conduct all engagements in a manner that protects Baer's reputation.
- Commitment to team behaviors at all meetings and gatherings, communicating openly and carefully.
- Pro-active and willing to take on responsibility.
- Interest in developing technical and management talent.
- Organized, flexible, and dependable, with the ability to resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Certification in human resources or related field preferred.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
What we are desiring from you (i.e. the nice-to-have qualifications):
- Experience: 7-10 years
- Experience in the technology industry
- Experience in the selection of HRIS and payroll platforms.
- Experience with Bullhorn ATS and timesheet system
- High School diploma required, Bachelor’s degree preferred
